"My four granddaughters Tabitha Atkinson, Isabelle, Nancy and Sally Spraggins, to be considered as one of my children." Both Isabella and Nancy died prior to 1809 and their father, William Spraggins, who would by law be entttled to their shares, petitioned the court asking that the money go to Tabitha and Sarah.1

She was named an heir in the will of Capt. William SPRAGGINS Jr. dated 23 October 1821 in Abbeville District, South Carolina. To her he left all his estate, both real and personal, to her during her natural life or widowhood. If she should remarry she would receive one third of the estate during his lifetime and upon her death it would revert back to the estate.1

To his beloved son William Spraggins, "now living in Alabama", he left one Negro boy, Tom. He also left him an equal share of the remaining estate with his three other children: Tabitha Atkinson, Sarah Meek and Thomas Spraggins.1
